RICHARD NIESSEN IN THE END OF THE WORLD - or in BREDA
Halo!
As I'm completely alone in the "each day less exciting"/Rotterdam, I decided to do something meaningful for my carreer: visit an exhibition of graphic design!!
DUEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Bom dia Portugese crew!
I might not be a Portugese erasmus-student but since this blog is open for anyone willing to comment, I thought I'd leave a message! I come here every once and a while, but now that the city of Breda is mentioned, you caught my attention! You see I live in this pittoresk little village underneath the city so there is probably only 20 kilometers between me and that exhib of Richard Niessen, of whom I had never heard... Babelfish told me you liked the exhibition, and the fact that it takes place in a baroque church might be of more value to me than to you, Joana! I didn't even know we had a baroque church in Breda! So, thanks for introducing me to Niessen, chances are big I'll go to that exhibition soon! Enjoy your time in Rotterdam and keep blogging!
Greetings from an Isabel/Maria colleague,
Erwin
Hei Erwin,
sorry but your babelfishing is not working well! The exhibition had once occured in a church, but not in Breda! In breda the exhibition is happening in a common building with white walls, no saints, no religion. By the way, you really should go there to know the place: they have the doors open for you to propose an exhibition..in the fields of graphics, illustration, video..Also, they will have between 23may to 29 june the Graphic Design Festival Breda. Check the site: www.graphicdesignfestival.nl
I'm curious, what's the name of your picturesque little village?
tot ziens,
joana
Jo Joana!
Thanks for the quick reply, I'm impressed! Indeed, babelfish is a terrible translator but hey, it's either that or learning the entire portugese language in 5 min. which is probably next to impossible! :) Let's not even start about the Dutch language, which, next to the fact that it sounds horrible, is also pretty complicated...
As I did a quick search on google for our friend Niessen I found pics of his exhib in the baroque church, so that explains the missunderstanding. Thanks for the festival-link, I'm a bit ashamed you (as an erasmus student) know more about these events than I do, haha! I'm definetely going to keep a close eye on that festival!
The little village I come from is called Zundert, close to the border with Belgium and well-known for being the birthplace of Vincent van Gogh (we brag about it constantly!), hosting an annual festival to honor the strawberry, and organizing the world's biggest flower parade, which might be interesting as it is somewhat of a cultural event!
Some pictures of the parade can be found here:

Don't forget to come to our Skeft Expo which takes place in Antwerp at the end of january, if your still in Holland that is... Ask Isabel/Maria about it!
Greetings and ate depois!
Erwin
